The clinic has been at 135 Lakeshore Road West since 1998, and the community it serves has always included Bronte. We see families from around Bronte Harbour, along Bronte Road, near Bronte Creek and across the west Oakville shoreline, a good number of them across more than one generation.
The practical appeal is straightforward. It is one road, east along Lakeshore, with no QEW and no navigating central Oakville. There is free parking at the clinic itself, which is not something you can rely on nearer the downtown core.
What brings people back is the continuity. Our optometrists keep your records and imaging in one place, so your results are compared against your own history. That is what makes a subtle change at the optic nerve visible before it becomes a problem.
The clinic is on the south side of Lakeshore Road West in the Kerr Village area of south Oakville, roughly six kilometres east of Bronte Village.

It is worth doing rather than starting fresh, because conditions such as glaucoma and macular degeneration are identified by change over time. Prior results make your first exam here considerably more useful.
OHIP covers one comprehensive exam every 12 months for anyone under 20 and anyone with a qualifying condition such as diabetes, glaucoma or cataracts at any age, and every 18 months for anyone 65 or over without one. We bill OHIP directly.
Adults aged 20 to 64 without a qualifying condition pay at the visit and can usually claim it back through workplace benefits.
Usually yes. Call rather than booking online and we will make room. Something caught in the eye, an injury, sudden pain or redness, new floaters or flashes, or an abrupt change in vision all warrant a same day appointment.

Yes, from six months old. Exams for anyone under 20 are fully covered by OHIP, and we use techniques that do not require a child to read or speak, so even infants can be examined accurately.
