Why Patients Travel

Worth the Short Drive West

Nobody drives past three optometrists to reach a fourth without a reason. The patients who come to us from Clarkson, Lorne Park, Rattray Marsh and Port Credit generally do it for one of three.

The first is continuity. Our optometrists keep your records and imaging in one place, so your results are compared against your own history. The second is equipment, including optional OCT retinal imaging, and LipiFlow and BlephEx for dry eye, which most clinics do not have.

The third is simply that it is easier than it looks. Lakeshore Road runs straight through, there is no highway involved unless you want one, and there is free parking at the clinic rather than a hunt for a meter.

  • No catchment boundaries. Ontario has no geographic restriction on which optometrist you see
  • OHIP works province wide. Coverage is identical wherever in Ontario you are seen
  • Records follow you. We request your history from your previous clinic with your consent
  • Every visit with one of our optometrists.
  • Free parking. On site, no meters, no circling

Moving Your Care Is Straightforward

We request your records With your written consent we contact your previous optometrist. Prior results genuinely matter for conditions like glaucoma where change over time is the diagnosis.

OHIP is unaffected Coverage is provincial, not local. Eligible exams are covered identically wherever in Ontario you are seen, and we bill OHIP directly.

No referral, no waiting list Book directly online or by phone. Urgent problems are usually seen the same day, covered under emergency eye care.

Also serving Oakville and Bronte The clinic covers the whole Lakeshore corridor, including Bronte to the west.

Common Questions

Questions from Mississauga Patients

Can Mississauga residents book at an Oakville clinic?

Yes. There are no catchment boundaries for eye care in Ontario, so you can see any optometrist in the province regardless of where you live.

A number of our longest standing patients live in Clarkson, Lorne Park and Port Credit and have made the drive for years.

Is OHIP accepted for Mississauga patients?

Yes. OHIP coverage is provincial, not municipal. Eligible patients are covered identically wherever in Ontario they are seen, and we bill OHIP directly.

That covers anyone under 20, anyone 65 or over, and patients with a qualifying condition such as diabetes or glaucoma at any age.

How long does it take to get there from Clarkson or Port Credit?

Around 12 to 15 minutes from Clarkson and 20 to 25 minutes from Port Credit, heading west along Lakeshore Road. Lorne Park is roughly 15 to 20 minutes.

You can also come off the QEW at Bronte Road or Dorval Drive, though Lakeshore is usually simpler outside rush hour.

Is there parking at the clinic?

Yes, free parking is available on site at 135 Lakeshore Road West, so there is no meter to feed. If the lot is full there is municipal parking nearby in Kerr Village.

Can I transfer my records from my current optometrist?

Yes. With your written consent we request your file from your previous clinic and it becomes part of your record here.

This is worth doing rather than starting fresh. Conditions such as glaucoma and macular degeneration are identified by change over time, so prior results make your first exam here considerably more useful.

Can I be seen the same day for an urgent problem?

Usually yes. Call rather than booking online and we will make room. Sudden vision loss, eye pain, new floaters, flashes, an injury or something caught in the eye all warrant a same day appointment.

For eye problems specifically, an optometrist is generally faster and better equipped than a hospital emergency department.
